Modern Disposal is applying to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) for renewal of its 6 NYCRR Part 360 Solid Waste Facility Permit. As part of that renewal process, Modern has developed this Permit Renewal Project Page to provide the surrounding communities and general public with information related to the permit renewal. Modern is committed to public engagement in this renewal process and has developed this Permit Renewal Project Page as one element of our community engagement. Modern disposal is seeking renewal of its current permit. The permit renewal will allow ongoing operation and construction of the previously permitted landfill capacity at the site, as well as utilization of the remaining airspace provided within the framework allowable in New York State. Since Modern Landfill has been designed and operated in conformance with the requirements of all applicable regulations, the permit renewal will continue to ensure solid waste management facilities are designed and operated in an environmentally sound manner. This renewal simply allows for the continuing operation of the landfill

with no significant requested changes to the operational procedures.
